Top: The Limited

Jeggings: Express

Boots: Rocket Dog via Macy's

Necklace: Lia Sophia

So, um, about that two month abandonment absence? Let's just forget that ever happened, okay? Can we still be friends if I promise to do better?

Sunday I had a ton of errands to run in the beautiful sunshine. We finally hit 40F here and I'm pretty sure our entire town was out enjoying the sunshine!

When I first heard of jeggings I thought it was the most ridiculous idea I'd ever heard. Well, maybe second only to bringing back neon and shoulder pads last season, but I digress.....I didn't think I'd ever set foot leg inside a jegging - boy was I wrong. I found a pair on clearance at Express in December and I have been wearing them out ever since! Jeggings are to boots what peanut butter is to jelly. I am in love. Now my only regret is waiting so long to try them (and not buying two pairs while they were on sale!).

Dress: The Limited

Belt: Loft

Shoes: Baker's Shoes

Earrings: The Limited

I didn't take a picture of my outfit today because I was a hot mess after church this morning. This is a dress I wore when I was much tanner during my little summer hiatus but never got around to posting.

I love this electric blue color and find it really interesting paired with the olive and black - kind of an unexpected combination but it works. The dress came with a tie belt but I switched it out for this faux croc belt instead.

Man, I miss that tan!

Dress: LOFT

Shoes: Baker's Shoes

Necklace: Express

Ring: The Limited

Another long day at the office this week. I feel like I'm copping out a bit by wearing dresses every day, but I just don't have the time or energy to be messing with separates this week.

I originally planned to belt this dress but I couldn't find a belt that I was happy with in my closet this morning. Most were the wrong shade of brown and the only one that was the 'right' shade was too big for my waist - it's more of a hip belt. Don't you hate when you just can't seem to make anything work? So I threw on a statement necklace instead and added 'tan leather belt' to my shopping list!

Holy short skirt, Batman! I didn't realize how short this dress was until I got home and saw these pictures. I got dressed in the dark this morning because Nate was sleeping in; otherwise I probably wouldn't have worn this to work. Eek!

That said, this dress was a fabulous deal! An $80 dress for get this - $3! It was final sale for $4.99 at LOFT plus an additional Friends & Family discount on top of that. I half expected to get it to the register and find out I was getting Punked!

Dress: The Limited

Shoes: Steve Madden via Macy's

Bracelet: New York & Company

The high here today was supposed to be 97, with chance of thunderstorms (translation = HUMID AS HECK). I could have sworn I left that weather behind when I vacated the South, but apparently it hunted me down and has decided to stick around.

This dress was perfect for today - light, loose and linen. I wanted as little touching my body as possible!

I've had this in my closet for awhile but hadn't worn it because I couldn't find any shoes to go with the odd shade of blue or the slightly muted red. But canvassing my shoe collection last night, I decided these gray ones looked close enough to the blue to work. I'm not crazy about the pairing, but at least I finally got to wear this super fun dress!

I had a 'Welcome to the Company' introduction with the Chief Procurement Officer for my new company today, so of course I wanted to dress to impress. It was a fabulous meeting and if he's really believes half of what he espouses, he and I will get along famously.

I love the unexpected color combination in this tweed suit. It's totally outside of my normal comfort zone but I think it's a fun way to get dressed up when necessary. My closet is full of basic black suiting pieces, so it's nice to look in that section and see a bit of color now!

I had new employee orientation for the first four hours of the day today so I wanted to make sure that I was comfortable enough to sit through hours of boring benefits and corporate values talk.

I've been looking for dove gray slacks for a couple of weeks now and finally found these at Banana Republic over the weekend. The color is exactly what I was looking for, they are fully lined, they didn't need to be hemmed, and they were on sale PLUS I had an extra 50% off coupon. Complete perfection for $29.99. So perfect, in fact, that I bought them in black too!

Dress: The Limited

Shoes: Payless Shoes

Bracelet: The Limited

Necklace: Heirloom from my Grandma

In case you haven't noticed, I am taking advantage of my totally tan-tastic legs for as long as I can. In my fair-skinned world, a tan is a rare and beautiful thing that should be enjoyed to the fullest extent for as long as possible.

This simple shirt dress just goes to show that sometimes the details really make the outfit. I got compliments from three different people this morning before I even got my venti Starbucks - one each for my necklace, my shoes and the color of the dress. Talk about feeling like a million bucks. The funniest part? No piece here cost more than $20!

I was originally skeptical about the whole 'crop shirt' trend coming back. It wasn't a good idea in the 80's, unless you were under the age of say 10, and it sure as heck isn't any better an idea now. I saw this top in the store and would have snapped it up immediately (yay, stripes!) except for the crappy cropped length. However, when I stumbled upon a store closing sale where everything was 80% off? All bets were off. I bought this for a whopping $4.00, intending to wear it to the office, tucked and belted with a white skirt. Unfortunately for me, I neglected to consider the fact that currently, I do not own a white skirt. Um, yeah.

So the top has been sitting in my closet, neglected and gathering dust, until last night. We were headed out for pizza with the neighbors and I was having one of those 'I have nothing to wear for this occasion' moments. Suddenly it dawned on me - maybe, just maybe, I could pull off this top with long skinny denim, a big necklace and sky high heels. And TA DA! An outfit is born, cropped top and all.

It's another chilly, rainy day here in Indy. I almost busted out the tights again, but there's really nothing worse than wet tights, so I decided to stick with pants. I originally had on a longer pair but discovered they are a bit too big now - WAHOO! It's amazing what just a week of eating right again will do!

The collar and ruffles on this shirt feel very Elizabethan to me. I felt like I was wearing a costume all day (in a good way!). Plus the print is really fun. I felt very sassy in this outfit!

I've done a great job of cutting down on my clothes shopping but when I saw this top on sale at The Limited, I knew I had to have it. I love the color combination at the fun print. I'm a sucker for this electric blue! I also liked that it has short sleeves - I tend to go straight to sleeveless tops for summer so this is a nice change of pace. The bling around the collar is just a total bonus!

Dress: New York & Company

Tank: Old Navy

Sweater: The Limited

Shoes: Sam & Libby

Bracelet: New York & Company

Necklace: Amy Cornwell Designs

I spent most of the last week sick with the flu and then went out of town to visit the family for Easter weekend. I came home last night and crashed hard - in bed and asleep by 9pm! Which meant I put zero thought into today's wardrobe.

It's warm here, but the weather was calling for intermittent showers so I thought it might possibly get chilly sometime during the day. I chose a bright, fun printed dress and threw a cardigan over it in case I got cold.

I originally envisioned this belted, but then I realized the stance of the dress is way too high for a belt, so I ended up skipping the belt. Luckily for me, the dress has a really pretty gather on the side, so when I shucked the cardi half way through the day, the dress still looked pretty snazzy all by itself.

Looking at it now, I wish I had worn gray shoes instead. Live and learn (and plan ahead next time!).

Shirt: The Limited

Vest: Express

Pants: Express

Shoes: Bitten

Necklace: Vintage (my grandmother's!)

It is a gorgeous sunny day here in Indy and I had a ton of things to accomplish before I start my temporary contract position on Monday. The job happened pretty quickly and caught me off guard, so I feel a bit unprepared to go back to work so soon!

Today's outfit was all about being comfortable as I ran around town and popped in and out of the car.

This necklace is one of my all time favorite pieces but I don't get too many chances to wear it because it's such an unusual shade of blue. I decided to try something different and knot it up so I could pair it with the vest.

It's SUPER BOWL time, baby! The Colts are in it to win it and I'm supporting our Boys in Blue!

This is what I wore to church. I almost wore my jersey, but decided to go a little more dressed up instead. I needn't have worried - even the senior pastor was wearing his jersey! This town is crazy for their Super Bowl football team!

I'm switching to the jersey tonight as a cheer on Peyton and Co. Go Colts!

T-shirt: The Limited

Jersey: NFL Shop

Jeans: Express

I'm not normally one to wear my heart on my sleeve, but today I'm wearing it on both my sleeves...and my front...and my back!

The whole town is abuzz with support for the boys in blue as they take on the Ravens tonight in the playoffs. Even the atmosphere at Wal-mart was downright jovial - more like a giant blue pep rally than the usual race-to-the-death for the chip aisle.

Of course, I am showing some love for my favorite hoss - Peyton Manning, the record setting four-time NFL MVP. It's okay - Nate is well aware of my love for all things Peyton. He puts up with my school girl crush, kind of like I put up with his (rather questionable) love for a certain Black-Eyed Pea.

Hopefully the boys can overcome the Colt Play-Off Curse and give us a big old 'W' tonight. They better, because they certainly should be *ahem* well rested.
