Vacation Edition

My goodness, I can't believe it's been over two weeks since my last regular post! Between vacation and returning from vacation, I've barely had two hours to rub together!

But fashion waits for no (wo)man, so let's get to it....

Tank: New York & Company

Pants: New York & Company

In the interest of being completely honest, here is what I wore the first day in the car. We were driving six hours with two very furry dogs, so fashion took a backseat to practicality. I have two criteria for my car-ride-with-dogs outfit: 1. Can it be lint rolled? and 2. Can it be tossed in the washer upon arrival. Check and Check.

Top: Old Navy

Capris: Express

Sandals: Payless Shoes

In case you haven't been to the South lately, it is HOT. I mean like triple digits + crazy humidity hot. This gal has gotten a bit too used to the breezy Mid-west summer! It was lots of tanks and shorts for me all week. Seeing the picture here, I'm not too crazy about this outfit, but the tank will be cute under a cardigan or with a scarf in the fall.

Top: some random tween store at the mall

Shorts: Express

Sandals: Reefs

I struggled with what to wear to an amusement park on Tuesday. I knew we would get wet, so denim was out (hello, chafed inner thighs!). My go-to sundress is a no-go on roller coasters. And sneakers are a bad idea unless 'farmers tan' is the look you're going for.

So cotton shorts, a light weight tank and comfortable to walk in Reef sandals were the plan. If you've never tried a pair of Reef's, you don't know what you are missing. They are flip-flops but with arch support. The most comfortable things you will ever put on your feet and in dozens of fun colors and patterns. I add a new pair to my collection every summer (this year - yellow!) and have literally walked hundreds of miles in mine over the years!

Dress: The Limited

Girlfriend: Amber

Shoes: Baker's Shoes

Wedding #1 - Admittedly, not my best side here, but my girlie and I are modeling our dresses with pockets. You know, because we're stylish like that.

No full on body shots here, but it's accessorized with strappy black heels and big black earrings. I love the print of this dress but may not be too crazy about the cut anymore. Looking back at the pictures, I look about 5 months pregnant in every single one. Not good. Unless, you know, I actually was five months pregnant. Which I'm not.

Shoes: Baker's Shoes

Bracelet: New York & Company

Wedding Rehearsal #2 - This one was another tough one. The invite said 'dressy casual' - but then specified coat and tie for the men. Last time I checked, wearing a suit was definitely not casual; but hey what do I know, I'm just a girl. So that threw me into a quandary. Is it more dressy or casual? For the three events we were attending (2 weddings and a rehearsal), I packed five dresses. Just in case. This isn't one of them! I found this one while shopping with my MIL earlier in the week. And it turned out to be perfect for the 'dressy casual' rehearsal. Bonus points because the dress has pockets, too! (This pic is for you, Amber!)

Dress: The Limited

Shoes: Baker's Shoes

Ring: The Limited

Handsome Escort: My husband, Nathan

Ignore the crab in the picture with me. Someone didn't want to play along with the prom picture theme.

Wedding #2 - I am in L-O-V-E with this dress. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love.

I would wear it to every single event I ever go to for the rest of my life....except then I wouldn't have any excuse to shop. And the only thing I love more than this dress is shopping.

I love the pockets and am very jealous of the lacy number! I want it!
