I just realized that every piece of jewelry I was wearing today was a gift. Guess that means I'm loved a lot, huh?
Yesterday while digging through my necklaces for something to go with this dress, I ran across this necklace in the bottom of my necklace box. It is a hand-painted Venetian glass bead necklace, so I keep it in a special little case which means it often gets neglected despite how much I love it. It belonged to my great grandmother and was given to me by my grandmother a few years ago. It is not only beautiful but also has so much history behind it. I love that kind of stuff!
My goal today was to make an outfit around the necklace. This was harder than I expected because I don't wear or own very much blue. I eventually dug up this top and then immediately remembered these shoes in the back of the closet. Again, an item I totally love, but don't get much wear out of because of the whole 'blue issue'.
These shoes were my first pair of kitten heels a few years ago. Not a height I wear often at all. But I loved the pattern on these and they were only $4 so I didn't really stand to lose much if I only wore them once in a while.
The bracelet was my very first jewelry gift from Nate. I don't even remember the occasion for the gift anymore (it's been 9 years!) but it's special all the same. And for the record, he is a fabulous jewelry picker!
